Flags Over Coalville Project

Well done to eleven children from Belvoirdale that have been successful in having their slogan ideas put onto banners that are to be displayed around Coalville.

The banners are to be put up in Jackson Street, Ashby Road, Belvoir Road, Whitwick Road and London Road.

We look forward to seeing them on display.

First aid course for Parents/Carers
Suzanne Gregory our Family Support worker has organised a 6 week first aid course for parents/carers week beginning: 7th June 2010.
The course will run every Tuesday and is being held at Hugglescote Community Centre 10 am - 12.00 pm. If you feel you would like to attend but haven't signed up then please come in to Belvoirdale and speak with Suzanne. She will be in school this coming Wednesday (26.5.10)

Mad Scientist after school club

We are hoping to start an after school Mad Scientist club. So far 13 children have expressed an interest. However, in order for the club to run we must have 15 children. Does your child want to join in the fun and learn about science through lots of enjoyable practical activities? If so, please see Miss Linthwaite for more information.

Year 6 photographs
If you wish to purchase photographs - this year they are in the form of a memories album with a group photograph with several individual photographs then please call in at reception to view. The cost of the memories album is £15.00
These are a wonderful keepsake and one to treasure :)

Friends and Family Open evening
Would you like to become part of Friends and Family at Belvoirdale Primary School? Unsure? To find out more come along to the open evening on Tuesday 25th May 2010 3.30pm onwards - you will find tea, coffee and a slice of cake waiting for you in the library.

Family Maths workshop for parents of Y5/6 children
I would firstly like to say thank you to those parents who attended Tuesday's maths workshop and I hope you found it useful. Unfortunately, due to the small number of parents who have been able to attend the maths tutor has cancelled any further workshops.
As always, I would appreciate any ideas on how we can help you to help you child with their education. Please pop any ideas in the suggestion box which is located in the main reception area of the school.

Karate after school club cancellation
This coming Friday (14th May 2010) the Karate Club has been cancelled. It will resume as usual for the following week.

Coalville Festival of Music
Well done to the school choir who gave a superb performance on Saturday 8th May 2010. They performed 2 songs and received a score from the judges of 82 points (Merit). This reflects the children's ability to communicate a song well with good phrases.
A number of school choirs gave excellent performances and Belvoirdale's choir was one of them. I was very proud to have seen everyone put in their best efforts. Miss Lenton. :)
Well done and keep on trying.

Family Numeracy
This weeks family numeracy group for parents of Y5/6 children will be run on Tuesday 11th May 2010 3.30pm until 5.30pm. The session will be run by Yvonne Casswell Family Learning Manager. I look forward to seeing you there.

Belvoirdale Choir will be taking part in the above Festival of Music at Newbridge High school.
